FAQs

Do I have to be Christian or Catholic to be a patient of Simple State Psych?
No. Christian/Catholic principles can be incorporated for those who seek faith aligned care but there’s no pressure or requirement to discuss faith matters.

What ages do you treat?

Adults ages 18 and up located in NC, MD, or AZ

Can I be seen for just talk therapy and support?

Yes, some patients prefer supportive talk therapy or psychotherapy without medication.

Is my information kept secure and private?

Absolutely. Privacy is a top priority. All software, scheduling, payment process, and video visit platforms use the latest HIPPA compliant technology and security. What's discussed during a visit will stay between you and your provider.

Do you treat ADHD in adults?

Yes. If you are unsure whether ADHD might be a factor in your daily struggle, an initial evaluation can help clarify your symptoms. Many adults who have ADHD were never diagnosed in childhood. As a result, they have not had the benefit of treatment.

Do you treat Anxiety Based Conditions?

Yes, particularly those managing high levels of stress, life transitions, demanding careers, or mental overwhelm. Anxiety, OCD, and other related conditions are treated in this practice.

What conditions do you NOT treat?

To ensure patient needs are met in the safest and most comprehensive way, this practice is not a good fit for individuals seeking treatment for:

PTSD as a primary diagnosis

Active suicidal thoughts or crisis care

Severe mental illness requiring intensive services

Active substance use disorders

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

When clinically appropriate, stimulant and non-stimulant medications may be prescribed as part of treatment. Prescribing decisions are made with care and consideration. Controlled substance prescriptions for ADHD may require psychological testing and will require a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, adherence to state and federal regulations, and regular follow-up appointments to receive refills. Currently, controlled substance prescriptions are only provided in NC. Medication refills are only provided during scheduled visits, in accordance with practice policy.

Do you offer emergency or after-hours care?

This practice does not provide emergency or on-call psychiatric services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call 911, go to the nearest emergency department, or call/text 988. Certain clinical situations may require referral for in-person evaluation for higher levels of care.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept some health insurance plans as well as self pay. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be able to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider and a superbill can be provided. We are actively in process of credentialing with several health insurers.
